Been attacking floorpan rust these past couple of weeks and well... these.. well i dont even know what to call them.. up right pieces of metal? you know for the rear bench seat.. well they have been bothering me.

Since i do NOT plan on having a rear bench seat.. ive been pondering if theyre important or not to keep in the truck..

So my main reason for posting this is.. are they important.. do they have any structural value to the vehicle other than holding up the rear bench seat.. if not they will be exiting my jeep next weekend haha

Heres pics to show which i am talking about:http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg549/lformica2/IMG_1191.jpg

You'll be fine without them

Those are just to close off the underside of the seat for a storage area, don't see that they would provide any support.

Could they be used to bolt down some storage containers in your application or maybe put a sheet of plywood hinged to the support to create a storage area for your application?

Well if theyre not important then theyre coming out for sure.

Thanks for the reassurance guys just wanted a second opinion.
My plan for this part of the truck will now be a interior tool box of sorts.. you know kind of like in the back of a pickup but less fancy.

I think its an awesome place for something like that and a secure place to lock up all valuables

However, one step at a time, rust first then ill start making up the plans for the box.. will keep you updated ;)
