It's an LED light that with 3 "D" sized batteries will run continuously for 30 days (on the low setting).

It has four settings, High (32 hours) Medium (3.5 days) Low and on S.O.S. flashing (15 days) and the afore mentioned low setting (30 days).

29 lumens on the low setting probably wont do much outside a tent. :link: (http://www.reveresupply.com/30-day_lantern.pdf) But it would be handy to have one that lasted in an event where you were out longer than you expected.

I'll keep my LED Maglite... But this thing still seems like a really awesome light... Might have to pick it up for camping and trail fix uses...

For auto repairs, I got one off Amazon (yes through xjtalk) that is a combo flashlight and regular light. I have magnetic bases as well as 120V charger and car charger. I use it in the shop all the time. Full on lighting lasts about 4 hours.
