I already have the fenders cut and folded about 1.5".

I just need to find out what is the best way of mounting them.
If you have any Ideas let me know

I'm thinking about using those on mine.
Do you thinks some big rivots will work?
something to think about..

Good deal there Dirt Dogg, I would agree with jugbutt on the rivets, or if you want the option of being able to remove them for maintenance use some self tapping body screws with the metal and rubber washers if they will work for you.......Bob.......

I was thinking bout 3M 2sided so i wouldn't have to drill through the sheetmetal.
I know other people have used it for their flares.
would it be a good idea

Use alot of it. It's worth a try. If it fails, then just bolt it on.

It may work there Dirt Dogg, but I have found that if both surfaces aren't really really clean and smooth it won't last long IMO.....Just a thought......
what about some good strong velcro ???

You might want to research what Chrysler used to put the side body molding on the 97+ XJs. That is some tough stuff. It's some sort of sticky rubber foam. However, even though they used that for the side molding they didn't use it for the fender flares. That would have been easier and cheaper than the metal brackes that the flares popped on to. Hmmmmm

why are you cutting and folding the front fenders???
It seems safer than just cutting it and having a sharp edge

oh i just cut mine and went to advance auto and bought some of that door molding. You know the chrome crap all the civic guys have around every lip of their car. Yah i bought some of that only in black and put it over the lip. Cleaned it up alot and no sharp edge.

I didn't think about that.
good Idea.
I might have to cut it some more anyway so i can get the right fit for the TJ flares

Door edge protector.
Get some thats in a spool (of sorts) In other words don't get the 2-pack.
I used this for mine. Covered every exposed edge.
Even ran a strip across to the corner light.
Really dresses up the edges.
I had enough left over to do all 4 doors for what it was originally intended for.
P.S.: Get the BLACK

I ended up drillingand bolting them on I figured it would hold better that way I wouldn't want them flying off just driving down the road.

^^^ here you can also see my stock spare after i punctured a tire. (irrepairable. On the hunt for a 31" at a good price.)
\/\/\/ I only cut the rear flares to match the shape of the XJ the front I left like it was for now.
