They take the group pic on the levee on the east end around 10 then head over to bolivar. The pic takes hours to do. I always just head to the beach

I also read that they will either go to Bolivar or to San Luis pass. The pass would be so much better as there are at least trails and dunes over there and we could do some wheeling. It's fun.

The group I go with goes to san louis don't have to mess with the ferry traffic

We were in Galveston last year. My son graduated from Texas A&M at Galveston the same day. There were hundreds of CJ, TJ, YJ, JK and even a few XJ. If the weather is nice, should be a fun day.

I know it's illegal to drive on the dunes on Texas beaches, but at the Pass, that not the case. I've never had any problems down there following the trails. I'll be heading down to the pass as well.

I went last year... it was pretty fun... I didnt take the top off... kinda like to be able to be water tight! I DID however take the doors off... I was the ONLY XJ on the beach however... apparently I missed ORANGEXJ last year! but here are some pics from last year to give ya'll a taste... and yes expect to wait for over an hour at the ferry!
