Thought about one my self. All the experience I've had with RC planes ended the same as yours. Funny thing is I can fly a real plane all day long and have yet to crash one of them. Might have something to do with MY BUTT being in the pilot seat. Keep us posted and::worthlesspics:

My only experience is with fuelers. I am wondering about all that weight of the batteries keeping it on the ground. But what do I know?

The batteries are small, it's designed around that little load I would think......
Neighbor, X military fly boy would'nt touch it, he stopped by while assembling, he had alot of intrest......but, no experiance with 'RC'.....

The things a trip, as.......you've got 4 controls, two thumbs, and one brain...it's a mind teaser to make it all come together from a launch, torque of the prop makes it want to travel left, off set that with a little rudder, but it's crazy trying to get it off the ground as theres sooo much to deal with....

I'll take pics tommorrow.......being a prop, my neighbor considers it a tail-dragger, he's only flown jets, says tail draggers are harder to fly.......I said 'thanks'....did you bring any more beer?......lol, he did.........;)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!
I have random access to a Cesna 172 for fuel cost only. That's the only way I get up.

The 4 controls and 1 brain thing isn't much of a problem until you have to fly the plane from a perspective other than looking out the windshield. When the plane is coming straight at you then left and right get all mixed up.

Use the rudder trim to correct for the motor torque.

I think you may have selected one that isn't good to learn how to fly. I bet it's very agile. You need something that flies really slow to learn on, or at least that's what I've heard.

I don't blame you though, I'd do the same thing. Corsairs were sexy.

I know plenty about RC trucks but planes? No. Does look killer though. Right know your trying to learn both how to fly and the controls. Spend a while on the ground learning the controls so you can then focus on the flight part.

I've literally been thousands deep into RC Trucks.....that was a few years back. Here......I have hundreds of acres of open air space, so.....thinking was a plane....

I got it about 5 feet in the air today till it banked left and nose dived, destroying my last prop.........I'll be ordering 50 more tonight...lol......

Good news is.........it's still in 1 piece...:drinking:

Sounds like it may have stalled. You might want to check the CG. People make this mistake all to often in real air planes.

Mark,

low wing isn't the greatest choice for a trainer. Get ya a high wing and its night and day different

I'm still trying to get one of these

I saw something like that on the Searching for Bigfoot show.....I know you throw it to launch, but you must break a prop every time you land?.....

if your trying to take off straight from the ground, thats pretty hard to do, try holding the plane in one hand while its running, the remote in your other hand, get a runing start and throw the plane, its alot easier than launchig from the ground.

its been YEARS since ive flown an RC plane, my dad has like a million of them though, i have a couple myself, but no time or really interest to fly them anymore. as it was stated though, low wings are hard to learn on.

i have a picture of one of mine ill try to find to give you some kind idea of what is the easiest.

something like this is REALLY easy to fly, perfect starter plane, doesnt look nearly as cool but good practice.

default83
04-30-2012, 12:24 PM
yeah, the hand release is an easy way to kind of feel out the plane, once you get a hang of flying it then you can move on to actually taking it off.

it takes a while, i flew for about 8 years and never really got good at it, i could do it but it wasnt pretty lol

the plane you have is going to be very touchy i think and wanna move downward alot, so its kind of hard to learn how to compensate that without making it stall.

Heck, just drop it off a good cliff. You will get the hang if it by the time it hits the bottom,

Good stuff Matt, but I'm not sure how much I like you right now.........:sniper:

Just kidding, I need to buy a trainer, and I will........the nieghbor just got into it so it's like a big tease watching him attempt to fly......they almost made the same mistake of buying the wrong plane 1st, I talked them into the trainer, not as glamerous...but the right place to start!

Thanks for sharing!;)

I've only played with trainers as far as the planes... Think I'll stick with the cars and trucks for RC... But have wanted to pick up a decent helicopter to learn to fly

Like Matt said these things are pretty easy to work on but if you need something done with some more expertise i can understand. I use to buy all my rc stuff from this place. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CFEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.larryshobbies-houston.com%2F&ei=l5v9T9mOHoWQ8wS127jkBg&usg=AFQjCNEHrJ2YRwD5E4p9oso5zt9UtvQjCQ
Never had any work done there but most places like that work on them too.

What kind of rc10? I have a t3, among others. I use to love these things, been getting back into it lately.

I've got three R/C planes collecting dust in my fishing room. I really love them, but it's hard for me to find the time when the Oklahoma wind isn't howling and I have some free time.

I'm a licensed pilot and I had a terrible time learning to fly R/C planes. I think R/C planes are are much harder to fly than anything I've ever sat in.:bang:

I like the really light and slow electric planes that are VERY aerobatic. I think those are a blast to fly and they're nearly indestructible.
