OK , they work but i have to hold them down, and after turning i have to reset the lever.
how do you change the turn signal cam in a 1998 XJ?

Haven't been in there on an XJ, but I changed the switch on my parents' '97 Dodge Caravan before. Very similar setup. All it took was the new switch/lever, removing the plastic around the steering column, few screws and the electrical connection. Reverse, then done. If I remember correctly, the part was about $35 at the local O'Reilly's. May have to order it through them though. That was several years ago. Don't know if that helps or not.

By the way... what part of KC are you in? I lived in Liberty, MO right next to William Jewel College for about 5 years when I was younger.

You have to pull the steering wheel to get to the signal switch. You will want to get a new one so you won't be using one that is worn out.

Be very careful with the airbag in the steering wheel. It has to be removed before the steering wheel. I don't recall all that you have to do, but disconnecting the battery would be one step.

You have to replace the assembly. It is a plastic thing with wires an a big hole in the middle to go over the steering shaft.

Not on this forum. There is a good one by Abovetimberline on Cherokee Forum. He wanted to transfer it here but had difficulty doing it so it never got done.
