I have been trying to think of a good place to install the switch for my Roof mounted Trail lights. And after months of looking at other XJ's and reading forum's I have picked a place to mount and the Type of Switch.

Here is the Switch I went with. Got this at Advanced Auto Parts for $5.95

And here is the location I picked. The reason I picked this spot was because of the extra room behind the switch to store the Relay.

Im think I may have room for a 2nd switch under this one for fog lights???

Looks as good as any. Anything behind that panel to get in your way?

Not much of anything behind it. you got about a 6" x 3" Open cavity. I put the Relay & Inline Fuse back there.

That's exactly where I mounted my switch! I love it being there too. Perfect placement.

I put my switches there too. I found that the bottom switch was a little tight but it still fit. Did the factory ever put something there? I picked that spot because it looked like there was supposed to be a switch there.

I think someone told me the factory would use that spot for different options the XJ had?

But I could be totally wrong... Oh well It works for what we use it for! :)
