I was just curious if anyone on here does any organized competitive shooting? Thought it would be a something fun to try out and give a break from shooting zombie Osama.

Anyone have any stories, tips, thoughts?

One of my local ranges use to do a speed plate shooting comp that was a lot of fun but city shut it down due to lack of what the city deemed as "proper ventilation"
There are several organizations out there that offer fun comp shooting and in my personal experience they are very open to new comers.

A few links to get to get started with:

Just remember to have fun cause its real easy to spend way to much money doing these things

Guess it kinda depends on what you want to shoot. I did a CMP, Civilian Marksmanship
Program, vintage military rifle match once with my Dad's M1 Garand. It was fun, I didn't do well since it was my first time shooting it. I know the range I'm a member of does different types of matches every month. I woud check with the local ranges and see what events they host and give one of them a try that you are interested in.
