Hey y'all, new guy from N.M. never had a cherokee before, stil don't have one but the next couple I'll probably have a 99' sport, I'll keep you posted.

99 seems to be regarded as the best year...
what part of NM are you from? I grew up around Hobbs (S.E. corner of NM).

I think the 1999 was the best year for the Jeep Cherokees.

Hmmm I only measured it once. I drive the 98, the 99 was my wife's until we got the 2003 TJ. Anyway I think it was about 12 mpg city. That's what I'm getting on my 98 so I may need to check and change a few things, like O2 sensors. I would expect it to be more in the 15-16 mpg city.
