Hi tobyw, welcome to the xjtalk forum!

We would love to know more about you and your Jeep. How you found us, etc...

Check out "Announcements" "How to post an image" for help posting images.

Got a Wrangler? Maybe a friend with one? http://www.WranglerTalk.com/

Hello gang. New to the site, not new to XJ's (or Jeeps in general...). I've had 3 previous XJ's, the red one in the picture below being the last one prior to recently picking up a very clean '99 a couple months ago.

This was my beloved '89...

And here is the '99, awaiting some love...

Welcome to xjtalk. Nicely outfitted '89, gotta love boggers. I know you can't wait to start digging into that '99. What your plans for it?

Plans for the '99 are pretty tame overall. I just want a good overall trail rig that can be driven to/from the trails with no drama.

* 4.5" RC L/A with Perf 2.2 shocks
* RC shackle relocation boxes
* RC extended shackles
* 33" MTR/Kevlars
* 15x8 American Racing Outlaw II's, 3.75" BS
* B&M trans cooler
* Autometer water and trans temp guages, A-pillar pod
* C8.25 29sp rear Spartan locker
* D30 27sp front Spartan locker
* Currie Anti-Rock front swaybar

The above is all en-route and I'm hoping to get a good jump on the installs sometime the week of March 26... From there, I'll tack weld some heavy washers on the front axle U-joint yokes, build a set of simple sliders, and a recessed front winch mount. Not sure if I'll try to hide it behind the stock bumper skin or build a full front bumper like my old one, depends on how I feel at the time I guess. For the rear, I recently happened upon a smokin deal (read: free) on a Rockhard rear swingout bumper, so I'll use it for now even though I'm not a huge fan of it's overall shape. Then i'll get the bumpstops set, trim the fenders as necessary to reach a happy medium while retaining the stock flares, and run it :driving:

Sounds like a good plan. Looking forward to the build up and completed photos.

Doesn't sound tame to me, mines more tame than that. Seems like a well thought out plan. Good luck with the build.
