So as my 93 build moves along, I will be installing some boomerang shackles in the rear for all the typical XJ shackle problems. I can go with RE 6" or JKS 2" Anyone use one or the other? Liked it?, hated it?. I know I don't want anymore lift in the rear, and I am not planing on a relocation bracket, not to say I wont ever use one just not planing on it right now. So opinions? you can post um here for free!!

Thanks

2" is as big as you should go. It changes the angle of the pinion too much if you used a 6"

I had the RE version but mine were 1.5" not 6". Worked fine.

I have 6" now, just regular shackles. 2" seems to short, doesn't seem that I would have very motion. And does it change the pinion angle? As I sit now i will need to add about 4 degrees

What rear springs were you using?

Yes. For every inch of shackle length added, it changes the pinion angle by 1°

Ok right now, with the daystar shackles I still need to go about 4 deg on my rear pinion. Im going to install a 1.5" RE boomerang, after already measuring it, it sit in the same place it is now. With the 4* shim I should be perfect. But I will let you know how it turns out. Last night it was removing the T-case, got 2 bolts let on that, just need a stub wrench to get to them ( what a PITA )

I've got RE 4.5" leaves. I'm now running the chevy lowering shackles they sell at part stores and HD Offroad relos and have a bit over 7" of lift.

After doing the math, and looking this over for a while, I think the RE shackle will do the job. I didn't want to go with a bastard pack on this build. I have done that on my other builds. I will have it installed this weekend and post the outcome.
