Random Starting Issues

my 99 jeep cherokee sometimes wont turn on everything else works lights, alarm, windows etc. but it wont turn over wont do anything then ill leave it for a while and try again and it ll turn on like nothing? help pplz

Have you tried putting it in neutral to start it?

Before buying a new starter you should remove the one in use and take it to your part's dealer. They can check it for you, and tell you if it is working good or if it is not....

nss switch??? as karl said try starting it in neutral...do your reverse lights work....

I had a similar problem just last week. I checked and tightened the battery terminals, got juice but no start. tested the relays and found one bad one, replaced it and the heap started right up. The relay that was bad was labled Auto Shutdown, really!.

I'll try to find the thread, Tony just went through the same similar issue with his 99' can't remember what he figured out with it.. But was having what sounds like the same exact issue you are having

The issue on the 1999 was a bad TPS.
