Hope you guys are having as much fun wheeling as I have been! Hit Barnwell Mtn in Gilmer last weekend for DFW club Megarun....

Couple rear steers out there running Iroks and quite a few nice rigs. The rock garden was setup in a really tough config. Watched a few rigs run it and nobody could stay on the course without getting DQ'd. Curious how that event turned out but we left Saturday afternoon.

Anywho, luckily made it back to my neighborhood (70 miles) when I heard the nasty clunk of my front DS biting the dust and banging against the crossmember. walked to the house and grabbed a few sockets and a rachet to go take it off and limp her back to the house.

It broke at the double cardan right out of the T'case. I personally crawled under there with a grease gun and hit the rear shaft and the front yoke of front DS about a week ago. I was thinking these bearings aren't even 3 months old, I'll save pulling the cross member down to access the double cardan yokes for another day. Besides, how much water could get into them?

I posted this in modified cuz my XJ is lifted 4". Not sure how I should handle this..

One explanation is the shop put the cross member back on without greasing the 3 zerks in the dbl cardan. Their fault, fix it. I know, good luck getting that done!

Another is this jeep is lifted and t'case hasn't been dropped. Too much of an angle there and it's binding the DC yokes.

Good news is if the double cardan housing isn't beat up too much, its 2 $20 yokes and I'm back in business.

How would you handle it? Prolly less than 500 miles on the bearings...
