Default Bumps cause cut out to fuel system?

94 4.0 4x4 auto chry 8.25 rear stock suspension factory stock i mean.
If i go over ANY bumps above 20 mph it feels as iff the rear is dead then come back. I checked the grounds and so far all are good and tight wires seem fine no cracks or breaks. Could a leaky retainer ring gasket cause this? Its almost as if the rear emd be it diff or fuel tank go limp on these bumps and cuts in and out til the XJ smooths out driving wise. Any insight as ive spent time troubleshooting but have no results other then a leaky retainer ring gasket at tank to fuel pump. Thanks jeepers.

That is kind of a strange one. I think I would look at the tank ground and the plug on the fuel pump wiring by the tank. I am thinking that when you hit a bump the tank jars a little and the ground is broken. After all, you live in the rust belt

Long ago when my Jeep was new, if I took a left hand corner (hard) with 1/8th a tank of gas the engine would stutter.

Took it back for service and they didn't fix it.

Sounds like your problem may be electrical though. I think the fuel pump line runs through the driver's side entry transition.

Its probably not the source of your problem but would be a good idea to make sure your tank straps are tight by the sound of it.

Straps are tight. New tank and pump/float/sending unit. I have to replace the retainer ring gasket/seal this weekend and its a full tank i need to get atleast half gone to do the seal. Ill start chasing wires after work tomorrow. Glad i got the FSM. Thanks will report findings on yet another gremlin

Ok. Wiring is intact no breaks or shorts. Tank is tight. Suspension is very weak as known and budgeted for this season. Other than the sending unit seeping at the retainer ring all i can think of is replace the leafs and shocks and sending unit gasket and go from there. Didnt do it this morning on a heat buckle jump (bigger than a bump sometimes acting as a jump if hit right)

Ive been chasing wires which seems like forever now. I have isolated this to a green/orange wire that goes from the MAP on the firewall to the main harness then to the fuel injector rail harness. I cannot find a break but when its jiggled like jello it cuts out.

It went from running good to idling high then low then high then dead then high then dead then low now after disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes its idle has returned to normal. Since I cannot find the break in the wire I tied it down well using a popcicle stick as a splint till I have more then a single day off work so I can dive into it without a time restraint.

Anyone got any ideas after this new crap?
